Nice try but no cigar

So I'm feeling a little sulky tonight. This morning I got all dressed up, slapped on my perky face and went off to a job interview. I didn't get it. Well, they didn't offer me a permanent position but rather said they'd like me to work on a freelance basis. Which is all fine and well, but really, I was looking forward to having a nice, secure, permanent job.

So yes, I'm feeling a little sorry for myself. In fact, I'll probably delete this post in a day or so as it's just a reminder of, well, failure and who needs that. Right? But for now, I'm going to wallow a bit.

My Champagne Supernova

This has been a good weekend.

Last night I finally went to Cape Town's Jade Lounge where I had champagne cocktails, danced to awesome music and kissed a really hot man. It was lovely.

It's been so long since I've gone dancing (other than at friends' houses) and I'd forgotten how much fun it is. Like I said, the music was really good - lots of remixed old school classics. The general age group was also pretty mature. A good mix of people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. That was definitely a bonus as there's nothing worse than going out and feeling ancient. The venue itself is pretty chic - nice décor. In all, it was a very successful evening though it ended a little later than I am used to and so I'm taking some strain today. Worth it, though. I can't wait to go back! 

By the way...

Change is as good as a holiday (at least so they say) so I've given my blog a little makeover. I like to think it's an improvement and I hope you'll agree.

How to make a Cosmopolitan

Okay darlings, with the SATC countdown in full swing, what do you say we pour ourselves a little cocktail? Here's how to make a deliciously yummy Cosmopolitan...

First, you're going to need 4 parts Vodka (preferably Citron); 2 parts Triple Sec (or Cointreau); 2 parts Cranberry Juice and 1 part fresh Lime Juice. Don't forget the ice. 

Okay, now you need to put all that into a cocktail shaker and, well, shake it.

(Shake, shake, shake. Shake, shake, shake.)

Alrighty, now pour your delicious cocktail into a martini glass, garnish with a little lime and then make a toast to your fabulous self.

So back off, haters. I'm happily going to over-indulge in the upcoming SATC2 movie frenzy where I'll be counting down the days and drinking countless Cosmopolitans in preparation for the return of my favourite New York girls!
